As the road-building programme in China continues to expand at an impressive rate, there is a high demand on techniques and knowledge to design and construct durable pavements using innovative materials. At the same time, to ensure that existing pavement can cope with unforeseen changes in traffic levels and material performance throughout its life, timely maintenance and strengthening measures would need to be carried out. This seminar brings together prominent experts from the UK, USA and within China to present and discuss topics and issues relating to pavement design, maintenance and materials. The 2-day event will cover latest development in material and pavement design, rehabilitation as well as practical pavement research in Europe and the USA. The event will take place in Nanjing, Zhenzhou and Guangzhou, China, in April 2004.
